Sensuality plays an important role in Daniel Kruger’s work. The shapes, the materials, the patterns, the textures and the colours are carefully combined to give a visual impact but also to affect the viewer and wearer’s senses. Many of the pieces have an erotic quality. Craft is work made by hands. The process is often slow which gives time for the maker to get to know the material and the – eventually – finished object physically. If the object is a piece of jewellery, this intimate relationship will be transmitted to someone wearing and handling it. An artefact made by one person for someone else’s pleasure.
