What does the appearance really tell of a person’s identity, status and background? Nabil Boutros askes the question in his photo series The Egyptians, 25 portraits of Egyptian men with different backgrounds and professions. But in fact, they are all the same person: Nabil Boutros in light disguise. A playful transformation thus becomes a study of the dangers of prejudice. Can we rely on appearance as the only starting point for communication?
