The artists HAMN – Nasim Aghili & Malin Holgersson – present their work The Brown Belt at this year’s edition of Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art, inviting you to a group walk with sound led by the artists and activists Timimie Märak and Samuel Girma. The walk begins with a healing ritual by the Delaware Monument on Stenpiren, before moving on through central Gothenburg. The Brown Belt mixes documentary voices and fiction in an audio-walk where participants listen with their own earphones and follow the map in GIBCA’s app. The work explores Gothenburg’s Nazi and colonial past.

Meet up at the Delaware Monument, Stenpiren, Gothenburg. The walk takes approximately 75 minutes.

We recommend that you charge your mobile beforehand, wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella in case of rain. And don’t forget your earphones!

Meeting place: The Delaware Monument, Stenpiren, Gothenburg.

A maximum of 30 people on each walk – first come, first served.
