Longing and worry – two seemingly opposite feelings can coexist within a body, tied together in their similarities and differences. Dividing lines between feelings fade, not as clear as they used to be. McChesney’s practice aims at capturing the different contexts we inhabit, the invisible layers that affect how we perceive everyday life. Memories, mental images, thoughts, physical bodies and internet personas all mix into a single body and mind. Personhood emerges from a number of overlapping dimensions in different constellations. An individual is a part of something larger. Everything melts together: feelings, bodies, identities, environments, and what we create.
