Staircase to Dollhouse 

A film about Martin and Maja. What happens in a person’s mind when the doctor gives the news that there is only a limited time left to live? The film moves between Martin’s physical world and his dollhouse. The dollhouse’s representation of reality and everyday life intertwines in a movement through space and time. Martin has a music venue in central Hisingen in Gothenburg, always open on Fridays, where music enthusiasts can come and jam. 

In his younger years, Martin was struck by Hepatitis C, which developed into incurable cancer. The film explores Martin and his wife Maja’s personal perspectives on art, music, and questions about the value and meaning of life.
