Through a mirror: dancer Anna-Greta Himmer mirrors Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi, Dalena Tran and Andrew Yong Hoon Lee
Through a Mirror is a series of intimate presentations where one artist mirrors another artist’s work. Each occasion implies a new encounter with an invited poet, musician, dancer, or other artistic practice, who through their own creative understanding mirrors artworks in the biennial exhibition a hand that is all our hands combined.
On Friday, November 21, we have invited Anna-Greta Himmer. She has chosen to mirror There’s enough light to drown in but never enough to enter the bones by Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi, Dalena Tran and Andrew Yong Hoon Lee.
“I am drawn to the broad structure of the work, to all the components and artistic expressions that come together. I am inspired by a kind of magic that the work carries — the idea of a refuge, a hope, another world where evil cannot reach, and where resistance is created out of a shared interest in structures. I want to explore those structures within my own body and encounter the existing structures within the space.” – Anna-Greta Himmer
Anna-Greta Himmer is a dance artist based in Gothenburg. In her artistic work, she explores movement, text and sound, both individually and together, to describe, embody and break down the human experience. Through improvisational structures, she works with a stage presence that wants to tell and understand beyond the visual. Her choreographic work is currently driven by moments, fictional scenarios, chance and a constant search.
The programme is part of Röda Sten Konsthalls programme serie Konstfredag. Take the opportunity to enjoy an AW and board game at Restaurang Röda Sten.
