Podium – Dien
Josefin Tingvall’s project Dien is about the act of dyeing in a contemporary setting, as a way to understand conscious and unconscious processes in our self and our surroundings. The word dien is an old homograf from middle english, meaning both to die and to dye. It draws links between our existence and impact on the environment through evocation of the dual meanings of the word. In this project, Tingvall is highlighting the word dien as a concept occupying the space between Bioart, textile craft and experimental dye practises.
